If you're in need of help, you don't want to be searching for telephone numbers or website contact details.  That's why we've compiled a list of the most important telephone and website contacts that you might need to help you stay safe.  This includes Australia's emergency service providers and other trusted organisations such as the Australian Red Cross and St John Ambulance.

We have also included a free Telephone Contact List that you can print off and put next to your telephone.
 

Call 000 for emergency assistance from police, fire or ambulance.
  Call the State Emergency Service (SES) on 132 500 for non life-threatening emergency assistance.
Poisons Information Line Call the Poisons Information Line on 13 11 26 for assistance with the assessment, management and treatment of human poisoning.  This service operates 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Australian Government Disaster Assist The Australian Government's Disaster Assist service provides advice and support for families affected by natural disasters.  This service can be accessed by calling 180 2266 or clicking on http://www.disasterassist.gov.au
State Government Departments may also provide special disaster relief following major emergencies.
Australian Red Cross The Australian Red Cross provide blood donation and disaster relief services to communities in need. To find out more, go to http://www.redcross.org.au

Emergency Management Australia  Emergency Management Australia (EMA) is the Federal Government body responsible for Australia's emergency response and readiness capability. Go to http://www.ema.gov.au/ for a useful range of community emergency awareness publications and resources.
