Discover the Journey
The goal is to create a new system of Self Defense, First Action Self Defense. It is not intended to be a martial art, although much of the combat techniques will be derived from many martial arts. Unlike many Martial Arts, First Action Self Defense will not only focus on combat, but also on escape (which is the ultimate goal of self defense ie escaping from the danger, what ever it is) and survival.
Once the system has been created, I am going to build First Action Camps, where people can come to 'study' the First Action Self Defense system. The camp will be based on a large property and will have everything that is needed to run the courses including natural rock climbing, a natural river system, a 'Martial Arts Dojo', many acres of bushland, dorms and a 'mess hall'.
In order to create this I first need to develop the system. I intend to spend the next few years (maybe more) travelling and learning different martial arts, going on different journeys and studying in different camps to help me further define the end goal.
So the journey is the pursuit of this goal, and this blog is my way of sharing what I learn along the way.

Be Part of the Journey
A lot of people ask me how I intend to fund this journey, especially those that know me as they know I am not from a wealthy background. First Actions' Martial Arts Equipment has been created to directly contribute to the cause and international work visas mean I can earn money while abroad when needed, but all this is unlikely to be enough to create the end dream, so below are some ways which you can help support the journey.
1. Spread the word and follow us
Tell everyone you know about First Action, the Blog and the products. Twitter, Facebook, Email, Phone, Face to Face etc. Spread the word. The more people that know, the more support First Action will receive.
2. Read the Blogs and visit our sponsors
On this page and though out the Blog site are advertisements for other companies. If you see something that interests you, please visit them. Also, the resources page has direct links to the resources used to write many of the blogs.
3. Purchase First Action Equipment
Need some training equipment? Why not use First Actions'!
www.WholesaleMartialArtsEquipment.com is the manufacturer and international wholesale distributor hub for First Actions' brand of quality Martial Arts and Self Defense Training Equipment. Wholesale is the key word. It is cheap but minimum orders are required (usually 5 for most items). I realize that not everyone needs 5 pairs of boxing gloves, but you can ask your Dojo or local Martial Arts or Sports shop to stock our products, or perhaps just get 4 friends together.
For those with an entrepreneurial spirit, you can become a distributor. It's simple and automated, just buy at wholesale price straight from the web, then sell them at RRP. Simple.
4. Donate Resources
The journey will take me all around the world, and I will be sure to let followers know where via the blog. If I come to your city and your feeling generous, it would be great if you could donate some time and show me around.
5. Invest
Once the research phase has been completed and the system has been created, then energy will be focused on creating the camp. It is unknown what the financial status of First Action will be by then but I'm fairly sure there won't be enough to acquire the land and then to build the camp on it. Investors will be needed.
